😈 Fun Fact: Deviled eggs date back to ancient Rome, but the “deviled” name came later, when spicy, mustardy foods earned a little culinary attitude.

Ingredients

6 eggs
1/4 cup mayo
Salt and pepper, to taste
12 Little Smokies
Dill relish
Mustard
Ketchup

Step By Step

1️⃣ Cook the eggs properly
Place eggs in a single layer in a pot and cover with water by about one inch. Bring to a boil, turn off the heat, cover, and let stand for 11 minutes. Drain, then transfer to an ice bath until fully cooled.

2️⃣ Char the little links
While the eggs cool, grill the Little Smokies until warmed through with a little color. You want light char, not backyard arson.

3️⃣ Make the filling
Peel the eggs and slice them in half. Add the yolks to a bowl with mayo, salt, and pepper, then mash until smooth and combined. For the extra-polished version, press the filling through a sieve.

4️⃣ Pipe the first layer
Lightly pipe the yolk mixture into the egg whites. Keep it restrained here, because the second round of filling is what gives these their little hot dog bun moment.

5️⃣ Build the bite
Place one Little Smokie on top of each egg, then pipe two lines of filling along the sides to create the “bun.”

6️⃣ Finish like a cookout icon
Top with relish, mustard, and ketchup. Serve immediately and watch deviled eggs put on tiny sunglasses.
