The Raddest Red Wine Margarita

Many a poor soul has mistaken wine for a beverage that doesn’t play well with others. The good news is that we’re in the business of saving souls with a thirst. We’ve talked whiskey and wine drinks, Champagne cocktails, spritzers and classics. But on this momentous occasion we make our foray into the world of margaritas. Frozen. Margaritas.

It’s not only possible, it’s refreshing, cold and delicious. All you need is a blender, some booze and an appetite for adventure. Seek out this morsel of timeless wine-fueled wisdom below:

Makes 1 pitcher

8 oz of tequila
12 oz of margarita mix
2 oz lime juice
3 oz  of Triple Sec
1 bottle of fruity red wine (err on the lighter side)
Salt, to taste

POUR your red wine into ice cube trays and let freeze. You should make enough wine-cubes to fill your standard sized blender and then some. What’s cooler than being cool? Ice cold.

FILL your blender with red wine ice cubes.

ADD tequila, margarita mix, lime juice and triple sec to blender.

PUT the lid on the top of the blender. This is an important step.

BLEND until you’ve reached the consistency your heart desires.

DIP the top of your glass in the margarita and dip in salt to rim glass.

FILL your glass with your beverage.

SIP, savor and chill out.
