You know those colorful decorated sugar skulls that are part of the Mexican holiday of Dia de los Muertos? Those are called calaveras. In honor of this celebration (and those sweet little masterpieces) the Calaveras Cocktail is a sweet, yet well-balanced and crowd-pleasing drink. Bartender and cocktail artist Miguel Aranda showed us how to make our own with Santera Blanco Tequila and Creme de Violette – which is what gives it such an amazing color!
1 oz ginger juice, fresh
¾ oz lime juice, fresh
½ oz lemongrass syrup
½ oz Creme de Violette
Hibiscus salt, to garnish
ADD all ingredients into a mixing glass with ice.
RIM a rocks glass with hibiscus salt and fill with fresh ice.
STRAIN ingredients over ice and serve.
